On their first LP, Growing, Sydney's Tim & The Boys search for the grotesque in pop culture and re-fashion it through a distorted lens. In the vein of Ausmuteants or Pervert's Again, they sit right at the edge of pop and punk, somewhere between satire and accusation, to deliver a record that refuses to be pigeonholed. The album features drum-machine-controlled garage jams that disintegrate at the seams, with stolen Spice Girls lyrics and cameos from Gary Glitter and Anastacia. Out now on Meatspin, this is the first release for the independent Sydney label.
