Oakland-based Deadform's debut LP, Entrenched in Hell, is a critical fusion of punk and metal that follows up their 2022 self-titled demo. Featuring members of Laudanum, Stormcrow, and Dystopia, this album is a convergence of seemingly incompatible genres that has become greater than the sum of its parts. With heavy, chugging, and distortion-drenched riffs, the trio showcases decades of songwriting experience and explores themes of war, cults, famine, and mortality. An amalgamation of everything you know, but not at all what you’re expecting.
