Ordo Ad Chao (Latin for "Order to Chaos") is the fourth studio album from Norwegian Black Metal legends Mayhem. Released in 2007, this LP is a raw, aggressive, and intentionally claustrophobic masterpiece. The album marked the return of vocalist Attila Csihar and was recorded in a primitive, low-fidelity style that deliberately eschewed modern metal production. It blends the chaotic, blasting intensity of early black metal with progressive, labyrinthine song structures and a unique, unsettling atmosphere. The resulting sound is a suffocating, dense, and uncompromising statement that reaffirmed Mayhem's position at the vanguard of experimental extreme music.
